A Private Jump-Start

A one-time, intensive, no-holding-back consulting call that gets to the heart of your editorial, publishing, marketing, business questions, and next steps. The feedback is inspirational, practical, and grounded in the issues, perceptions, and opportunities in the marketplace. The advice, brainstorming, potential resources, and specific, clear recommendations will be customized for your stage, resources, and goals.

A Laser “Clarity” Session is a perfect starting place, especially if:

You have subscribed to the “7 Steps to Take Your Work to the Next Level” free ecourse, listened to one or more of my no-fee teaching calls, attended a live event, and/or have been recommended by colleagues or clients and you have several defined areas to explore to move your project forward.
You have completed the Publishing Reset home study program and would like an intensive private session to give you the assessment, laser coaching, and creative insight you need to move forward with confidence.
You have developed one or more ideas or even book proposals and have researched (maybe to a fault) your options and next steps, but are now stalled and confused. These sessions create clarity and catalyze action.
You need targeted feedback, recommendations, and perhaps a “reality check” on specific burning questions such as high-level feedback on your idea and the market, your choices and next steps for getting published or building sales, your launch plan, publishing and publicity services, pricing and format issues, or other topics.
You want and need fresh, real-world feedback and guidance, but you’re not sure if you’re ready for a larger commitment or if the project is worth the investment; you like the idea of “testing the waters” and fit.

How it works:

Upon registration, via email, a date will be set for your session and you’ll be asked to send a list of your “burning questions” along with an optional 2-page Project Brief Form (based on actual forms used within all the major publishing houses) or other key documents (such as a brief marketing plan) relevant to your issues. Janet will spend a half hour reviewing your questions and materials, visiting your website/blog if available and other related sites and doing high-level research on the specific issues to be addressed.

The call will be organized to make sure the most important and immediate issues are covered and that there is time to touch on broader themes. Sessions are recorded and usually can be arranged within 3-4 weeks as Janet’s schedule and travel permits. (NOTE: Laser “Clarity” Sessions do not cover manuscript reading or assessment of a draft proposal or sample chapters.)
